BOGfest - 1st Brighton Outdoor Games Festival
BOGfest - Latest Info
Well the good news is that the weather is looking good for Saturday so what better reason do you need for coming along to BOGfest. We have finalised events and the programme on the right is pretty much what is on offer.
Important: There are no events in the morning now (maybe next time
) and everything will be centred on Brunswick Square and the surrounding area. Games may extend onto Hove Lawns but be aware that the French Market will be there too (some tasty things to eat while you have fun in the sun). You can pick up a programme of events from the notice board at James House, but you will find us at the south end of Brunswick Square - look out for the gazebo.
For most of the game you don't need to bring anything other than yourselves; just a couple require the use of a camera - either using your phone or something digital. Also, it looks as though it will be ok just to turn up to join in the fun. The only exception is the treasure hunt where you may need to borrow a phone and GPS module so it will be on a first come, first served basis unless you contact us first.

Alexis: Latest Recruit
Hello my name is Alexis and I`m Richard`s new trainee. I'm here for 2 months and will be working some of the time on BOGfest but also on various other Brighton Web projects. I'm 20 years old and come from France, where I am a 1st year student in computer studies.
Spontaneous Joy and Uninhibited Merriment

Ever wondered what a flash mob is? Well it's a sudden gathering of lots of people at a previously appointed place and where they then start doing the weirdest things. In our case: blowing bubbles!!! So if you have ever woken up in the morning with an absolute desire to do something crazy and funny but also something which no one has ever done before - join our mass outburst of spontaneous bubble blowing!
Bubble Recipe
- 1/2 cup of dish detergent (washing up liquid)
- 5 cups water (soft water is best - if your water is very hard consider using distilled or bottled water)
- 2 tablespoons glycerine (available at the pharmacy or supermarket). You can substitute light corn syrup (not golden syrup!)
- Mix the ingredients together very carefully, so that you they don't get too bubbly. Pour into storage containers and, if possible, leave overnight to blend.
Raphaela joins BOGfest

Hello there, my name is Raphaela and I’m the new helping hand for Richard. In the next few weeks I’m going to help him prepare the fantastic BOGfest and get involved in the marketing. Moreover, I’ll be here to support developing new games.
I’m from Austria but live and work in Brighton. To be honest, at the beginning I was slightly confused with all those new ideas and the thing with the gps but yesterday I got to play the treasure hunt game and actually loved it! I think it’s so much fun and I really wonder now why noone else had the idea before of creating that type of game. I’m sure this is going to be a great success and hey, now I’m part of it!!!
